Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, coding, debugging, and performing development activities according to established standards and procedures. You will provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize current programming languages and technologies to develop creative and practical solutions to various technical problems.
- Share technical expertise with colleagues within and outside the department as needed.
- Analyze system and subsystem requirements specifications and contribute to design definitions.
- Design, develop, and test applications and programs that support the company’s products.
- Follow established quality standards and internal engineering procedures throughout the software development process, including coding, unit testing, peer reviews, and software configuration control.
- Create high and low-level detailed software design specifications, storyboards, and interface specifications.
- Provide support for products from conception to delivery, including problem-solving, defect maintenance, and customer service support (which may require occasional out-of-hours support).
- Prepare reports, manuals, procedures, and status reports.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members.
- Support bids, proposals, and customer variation requests.
- Stay up to date with software engineering improvements and developments, contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the engineering department.
- Adhere to Cubic’s values, code of conduct, quality, security, occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager, as reasonably required.
