Job Description:
Position: Nursing Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Assist physician(s) in all medical procedures.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, ensuring their privacy, dignity, personal preferences, and cultural needs are respected.
- Transcribe physician’s orders accurately and review nursing and medical orders for appropriateness.
- Perform a wide range of injection procedures with precision, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients.
- Demonstrate effective prioritization skills and timely response to patient needs.
- Carry out physician’s orders accurately and promptly, seeking clarification when necessary.
- Verify dosage calculations of high-risk medications with a co-nurse.
- Discuss and explain pre-procedure processes to clients.
- Thoroughly explain post-procedure guidelines to clients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
- Modify patient treatment plans based on their responses and conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/healthcare personnel or oversee a unit during a shift.
- Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure proper nursing care is provided.
- Administer local anesthesia, if required.
